It gives your roof extra protection and aids in preventing moisture and leaking problems. They also offer a solid foundation for your shingles. This keeps the texture of the wooden decking from showing through the shingles.
There are three basic types of roof underlayment that use various materials:
- Rubberized asphalt
- Asphalt-saturated felt
- Non-bitumen synthetics
